In goodwill, some advice about a seller
(too old to reply)

The ad is on kingsnake.com, which recommends we ask for references
about sellers here. So I felt it was proper to share this experience
before someone is scammed:

I inquired about a fattie that was obviously duller than several
others in the group, http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=31&de=523745

"Why $300? She is peach, rather than tangerine... Would you accept
$200 for her?"

Seller's reply: "No thanks, She is tangerine, striped, and gravid. She
is a proven breeder so her color has changed slightly.
She produced the tangerine striped albino pair in my other ad for
$800, so my price is frim $300.
Thanks "

My reply: "She looks pretty pale for a tangerine...

Can you share your last name, Terry? Do you have a business name or a
name you go by for references?

Wanda"

Seller's reply:" I tell you what, when you are serious about getting
the animal, let me know and make a seriouos offer. I told you my price
was firm so now you want to interrogate me because I wont accept your
lowball offer?
How about you just dont buy the fat tail if you are so worried. Also
dont waste your time asking dumb questions. If I had a business name
then it would say so on kingsnake, you cant go by a business name
without being registered so dont waste my time. Secondly wha is a last
name going to do, if you need it so bad go look at some of my other
ads its in there.
Oh and one last thing, there is a guy on kingsnake selling "Peach" fat
tail females for $200. If my is not a tangerine then why dont you go
buy his, obviuosly because mine is better looking and worth more?!?!
So please dont waste anymore of my time if you are going to do
business then learn how to negotiate without pissing off the seller!"

Just a warning to everyone. The reason why a seller would blow his top
over my inquiry is baffling, and suspicious.

Have a great day all!

Check and scrutinize every transaction beforehand. The individual
refused to provide identity information when I replied letting him
know I wanted to confirm his identity in light of some negative
feedback I read elsewhere, about someone with the same first name...

You think he made very good points, you are welcomed to transact with
him. Others are forewarned..

I'm with you Wanda. Anytime I'm buying a product or a service and the
seller goes off on some rant just because you ask a few questions then
forget about them. If they are reputable with good references then they
won't mind or be offended to answer questions.
Good Job.

Thank you.

I know for sure that those bluffing would not be the first to put down
money for this seller anyway. Like you said, if a seller is
trustworthy, the issue of confirming an identity to check references
should not provoke such a defensive reaction.

I always google names of sellers before a transaction, to get comments
posted everywhere. Someone like Crested Gecko's Garrick produces
nothing but positives. You deal with the guy and see why. He cares
about his animals and is an honest seller. Those are worthy of
support...

I'm sure it's been posted before but in light of this thread I'll post it
again.

Use it wisely before you buy but I suggest you lurk a bit before you post.
If you screw up some people will chew you a new one.
