I went road hunting tonight and caught a beautiful kingsnake. It was
lying in the middle of the road and I picked it up and put it in a
container. It was fairly docile compared to other wild snakes I've
caught in the past.

It seems to be 2-3 feet long, and I would have preferred a baby as a
pet, but this one will make a good breeding specimen, assuming I can
catch another one of the opposite sex.

What I really wanted to catch was a few gopher snakes to breed. I
once caught a baby gopher and had him for ten years and he was the
nicest pet I've ever had.

Good looking snake.

Why not do the animal a favor and return him to the wild?

Why post a reply like that in a *.pets.* newsgroup?

What part of "pets" do you not understand, you twit?

*I have to hand it to you, though: You must have some talent if you
can determine the sex of a snake from a photograph.

Because he wasn't your pet, you took the snake out of its natural habitat,
that don't make it a pet, it makes you a criminal. Check your local laws
regarding the handling and removal of native species.
